Through the lens of a ceramicist
We invite you ...
To join Jeff and Hinako in Italy to savor art, culture, and food; To learn more about the ceramics of Italy, past and present; and To experience the arts and culture of Italy through Jeff's eyes and friendships.
In brief, our itinerary starts in Rome, then goes to Orvieto, after which we wend our way to Tenuta di Spannocchia, near Siena. We end our trip in the town of Faenza, in the province of Emilia-Romagna, where we'll stay at the elegant Hotel Vittoria, pictured above. We'll spend about 3 days in each place.
At each stop, we will visit studios, colleagues and friends of Jeff's, explore museums and architecture, and make the most of the great Italian cuisine.

JAPAN
I will be running international tours to Japan and Italy. The Japan tours are ceramic related with craft and food components. These tours give the opportunity to enter the intimate world of artists and artisans, visiting their homes and studios. A few highlights are: the Isamu Noguchi Museum, Naoshima Island of art intstallations and a visit to a Living National Treasure in Bizen. We visit a number of well known artists as well as a few up and coming artists in their work environments.
ITALY
Italy is similar in that it gives an opportunity to learn about the culture, history, art, craft, food, and wine (of course), through visits with artists, artisans, and museums throughout the trip. Italy may or may not have a hands on work component, to be announced.
